What this listing is, and what it is not
The companies listed on this page are businesses recorded as operating in solar installation within the Nicosia district. The record is built from mapped business data and, where a public register exists, from that register. It is a starting point for a shortlist rather than a recommendation of any individual company.
Two limits are worth stating plainly. First, presence in the directory is not an endorsement: it means a business was found and classified, not that its work has been inspected. Second, absence is not a judgement either — a competent installer that is not mapped and not registered will not appear here, and that says something about data coverage rather than about the company.
The register that does mean something
For photovoltaic work specifically, Cyprus has a public register that is worth consulting directly. The Energy Service of the Republic maintains a register of solar photovoltaic installers.
Where a listing on this page carries a recorded registration, that registration came from a public source of this kind and can be checked at it. That is a meaningfully different signal from a company description, because it is a statement somebody else is accountable for.
It is still a narrow signal. Registration establishes that a business is entered for this category of work. It does not grade the quality of an installation, and it is not a substitute for references from comparable jobs.
What conditions in this district ask of an installer
Nicosia is the only district in Cyprus with no coastline, and that shapes the work in ways a shortlist should account for.
Salt corrosion, which drives fixing specifications along the coast, is not a factor here. Heat is. The district records the widest temperature range on the island, and the plain around Dali is severe in high summer. Photovoltaic modules lose output as they warm, so mounting that leaves air beneath the array and inverter positions that stay ventilated matter more here than the marketing material usually suggests.
Building stock divides the district in two. Strovolos, Engomi, Aglantzia and parts of Lakatamia are dominated by apartment blocks built between the 1970s and the 1990s, generally with flat concrete roofs. Those roofs are technically easy to work on and legally shared, so an installation depends on a decision by the block rather than by one owner. Tseri, Geri, Dali and Kokkinotrimithia are mostly newer detached housing, where the owner decides alone and the roof is younger.
An installer whose completed work is concentrated in one of those two categories has met a different set of problems from one whose work is concentrated in the other. That is a reasonable thing to ask about when calling a shortlist.
Published cost levels
The table below shows published reference levels for turnkey residential rooftop systems in Cyprus. These are national figures compiled from published Cypriot sources; they are not quotes collected from the companies on this page, and no listed company has agreed to them.
| Work | Indicative range | Midpoint | Published sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solar panel installationTurnkey grid-tied residential rooftop PV: modules, inverter, mounting, electrical work and the EAC grid-connection application. Excludes battery storage and any government grant. Small 3 kWp systems sit at the top of the range, 10 kWp systems at the bottom, because fixed costs are spread over more capacity. | €1,100–€2,000per kWp | €1,400 |
|
Indicative range compiled from published sources, not a quote. It shows the level those sources report for this kind of work, not what your job costs. Only a site visit and a written quote for your actual scope produce a real figure. Sources compiled 2026-08-02.
Their use is limited but real: a proposal far outside this band, in either direction, is worth a question about scope before it is worth a question about price.
Turning a listing into a shortlist
Check the register first
Confirm the companies under consideration appear in the Energy Service register for photovoltaic installation.
Give every company the same brief
The same roof photographs, the same twelve months of bills and the same statement of what the system should achieve. Quotes built on different assumptions cannot be ranked against each other.
Ask who does the electrical work
Grid connection is regulated electrical work. The name of whoever carries it out and certifies it belongs in the quote, and on larger jobs it is often not the company that answered the phone.
Ask for a comparable reference
An apartment block installation and a detached house installation are different projects. Ask for the one that matches the building in question.
How to read the ordering
The companies on this page are ordered by how complete the record held for each one is, and that ordering carries no claim about quality of work. A business with a phone number, a website and several documented services will sit above one recorded with a name and an address, because more is known about it — not because it installs better systems.
This matters in a district like Nicosia, where the listed population is large and includes both dedicated photovoltaic contractors and general electrical or building firms that carry solar as one line among several. The ordering does not distinguish between those two, and for a rooftop installation the distinction is often the most useful one available. It is worth establishing early in a call.
Where the directory ends and the enquiry begins
There are three questions the record on this page cannot answer, and each of them is best asked directly.
The first is whether a company currently works in this district. A registered address in Nicosia does not guarantee that a firm is taking work in Dali or Kokkinotrimithia this season, and one based elsewhere may cover the whole island.
The second is capacity. A shortlist of five that returns two quotes is the normal result, not a failure, and it is the reason to approach more companies than the number of quotes wanted.
The third is scope. Whether a quote includes the grid-connection application, the electrical certification and the cable run from roof to consumer unit is a property of that quote rather than of the company, and it varies between jobs at the same firm.

Local conditions in Nicosia
- Inland location gives the widest temperature range on the island, which drives insulation and shading specifications.
- Large stock of 1970s–1990s apartment blocks, so rewiring and replumbing dominate renovation work.
- Fast suburban growth south-west of Nicosia mixes 1980s detached houses with 2000s estates, so extension and modernisation work runs alongside new-build snagging.
- An older village core sits beside dense newer apartment blocks near the university, so projects range from stone-house restoration to communal-block maintenance.
- Direct motorway access and the adjacent industrial zone make deliveries and skip logistics simpler here than in central Nicosia.
- A dense, established urban district with a large share of 1970s-1990s apartment stock, where rewiring, replumbing and full renovations dominate.
- Industrial estates border expanding residential streets, so commercial fit-out and new-home finishing work sit side by side.
- One of the fastest-growing commuter villages in the district, dominated by recent builds where pools, pergolas and landscaping follow first occupation.
- On the inland Idalion plain the summer heat load is severe, which pushes insulation and shading up the specification for any renovation.
- An inland plain location with wide day-night temperature swings, so thermal performance matters more here than on the coast.
